Presentation at the Social Book Search track

I gave a quick challenge talk at the Social Book Search track of the 6th CLEF 2015 Conference and Labs of the Evaluation Forum in Toulouse. I made two major points: (1) we need to understand the task of searching for book recommendations better, since it is in interesting ways very different from topical search (and the notion of “information need” in this context would seem to be obviously less appropriate to understand what is going on) and (2) that the affect and attitude expressed in the book reviews is likely to be a useful information source for the informed sharing of book tips.
